Some important terms and definitions of NX are discussed next.
• Feature-based Modeling
• A feature is defined as the smallest building block that can be modified individually.
A model created in NX is a combination of a number of individual features and each feature is related to the other directly or indirectly.
• These features understand their fit and function properly and, therefore, can be modified any time during the design process.

Feature-based Modeling
• A feature is defined as the smallest building block that can be modified individually.

• Parametric Modeling
• The parametric nature of a software package is defined as its ability to use the standard properties or parameters in defining the shape and size of a geometry.
